Press Releases
Team Canada showcased it's talent at the 2011 Spirit International with a 12-under-par 132 first round lead and posting 2-under-par 142 after the second round. Through 36 holes of
the 54-hole best-ball stroke play event, the Canadians led the 20-team
international field at 14-under par.
The 2011 Spirit International Canadian Team included:
Garrett Rank, a University of Waterloo senior and 2011 Canadian Universities Runner-up
MacKenzie Hughes, a senior at Kent State University and 2011 Canadian Men's Amateur Champion
Taylor Kim, the 2011 Western Canadian Summer Games Champion and soon-to-be University of Texas freshman
Brooke Henderson, one of the youngest players to compete at the Spirit and the 2011 CN Future Links Ontario Champion
Team Canada finished the 2011 Spirit International at T9, but the team's camaraderie and determination left an impression on the Championship, both on and off the greens. That's why The Spirit Golf Association is proud to name Canada as the Spirit International Team of the Month for April 2012.
The Spirit Team of the Month campaign will feature exclusive player interviews, video highlights and more. Find out more about the world's best amateur golfers here or on our blog, Catch The Spirit.
